Ann Wilson fans from her Nashville, IN concert on July 30th at the Brown County Music Center were showing the singer plenty of love throughout the night.
Wilson is from the American Band Heart and has embarked on a solo Northern America tour with her backup band, Tripsitter. The tour began July 7th in Toronto and will end on August 30th at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. The Rock and Roll inductee opened the evening up with the song “Even It Up” from Heart’s fifth album, Bebe le Strange and ended with the song fans were crying out for, “Barracuda” from Heart’s third album, Little Queen. Wilson sang cover songs that ranged from artists Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, and David Bowie, eight Heart songs, and other songs written by Ann Wilson.
At 73 and over 50 years of singing, Wilson still has an octave three vocal range, and her voice has been described as a lyric soprano where she can go very low, where most women can’t, and then hit the high registered notes almost simultaneously and she does it with such emotion.
Her backup band, Tripsitter, includes Ryan Wariner on lead guitar, Tony Lucido on bass, Paul Moak on guitar and Keyboards, and Sean Lane on drums. The best part of this tour is the tickets; they are relatively cheap, making it even easier for fans to attend and sing along live while Ann belts out their favorite songs.
