Help Save The Music along with Pauline Tombs and Weronkica Cyrynger (Blogger, Talking About David Cassidy) is working closely with Sharron Liddle from Great Britain to help get David Cassidy a Stone of Honour on the Walk of Fame in Camden Town London. Sharron started this petition and has worked hard to get the signatures but she needs your help! So far she has 1500 signatures but many more signatures are needed. Please, if you haven't done so visit the website HERE and sign the petition.
Why is this important? And why should you sign this petition? I can give you a few reasons taken from Sharron's website: "David Cassidy was an entertainer for almost 50 years!" (Sharron Liddle, 2022) He dedicated his life to entertaining his fans. He loved and appreciated each and every one of you. He gave so much of himself and now it is time for the fans to give back to David by signing this petition. Some will say George Michael deserves a Stone Honour before David Cassidy. Our answer to that is, that George Michael said David Cassidy influenced him to be a singer and also made an appearance on David's Romance Album. David paved the way for George and so many other singers. George would want David to get his Stone of Honour first. David was also bigger in the UK than in the United States! You showed David such devotion and love when the music industry in the US turned its back on him. "On his first trip to the UK in 1972, 5000 girls camped outside his London hotel all night." "In 1985 David toured the UK with another triumphant return, playing venues such as The Royal Albert Hall." "His 2002 album Then And Now went into the top five in the UK charts, and going platinum." (Sharron Liddle, 2022) Some of you would say David would not want the accolades and David would even tell his fans not to spend the time or money on any of the accolades, but his best friend Sam Hyman is quoted saying "David felt embarrassed asking for or having his fans go after accolades for him, but in private, David would say, it would be really cool to get the recognition." Have I convinced you yet? If not consider this: How many times did you hear David say "I love them Brits!" Or "man those Brits can really sing." "There's no place like London" (February, 1985). He loved London and all his fans there! He also considered the UK his second home because you showed him such warmth. He loved performing there and living there. It is only natural that a Stone is placed in his honor at the Walk of Fame in Camden Town London. It is the right thing to do! Thank you, HSTM Please show your support and Sign The Petition

Here is the latest music video our Executive Director, Julie Correll did of the song I'll Have To Go Away (Saying Goodbye). We will be doing a video for each song on the album. Several months ago, Julie Correll, our executive director, decided to "go to war" for David Cassidy, and the dream to get him the accolades he deserved started to take shape. Julie reached out to several talented folks for support, and we've established a core leadership team with Julie at the helm, supported by her assistant, Lisa Bailey Owens, and Carol Kaplan, our director of public relations, who also hosts the popular podcast, "My Life with David Cassidy." The Facebook Group has come alive and we also have a Help Save The Music Facebook Page for updates and news. By the way, we will soon be unveiling our "Supporters" page -- which will list the VIPs who have signed on to the effort, along with the different levels of support you can be part of (Platinum, Gold, Silver). Details coming soon! HUGE NEWS: On June 17, 2022 the IRS made us an official 501c3 nonprofit organization! That means we can legally raise funds and are required to comply with myriad tax laws, so everyone can be assured we're legitimate! Most importantly, we've been busy forming new friendships and contacts, both personal and professional. We are educating those who may not know all of David's talents. We are proud to say that we will be amplifying David's beautiful voice by sharing and promoting his album "Gettin' It in the Street" far and wide so he'll be rediscovered and his legacy will carry on to be enjoyed by future generations. David’s talents were always his shining star; singer, songwriter, producer, composer, actor, and killer good looks…he had it all! Please help us get David's music back out into the world. He deserves it! Thank you and Happy Trails, The HSTM Team helpsavethemusic.org |
