John Michael Osbourne, "Ozzy," the Prince of Darkness, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. I have been staring at that first line for awhile now, and I'm not really sure what to type next. Do I go over the history of Black Sabbath? Do I go into all the same old reviews that people have done for the past year? I have been a huge fan of Ozzy since I was twelve, and I am 58 now. I can't tell you the times that I stayed up all night on the phone with my friends with Ozzy spinning on the turntable. I guess words cannot express the countless hours that I spent on each vinyl or cassette and, later, CDs. Looking back, it wasn't just about the music; it was the soundtrack to our youth. I still remember the smell of the record sleeve, the static hiss before the opening riff of Sabbath, and the late-night debates over whether Blizzard of Ozz or Diary of a Madman had the better guitar solos. To fully appreciate Ozzy's impact, you have to look at how he fundamentally reshaped the landscape of heavy metal. From his revolutionary, doom-laden vocal delivery to his impressive thrill and love for life. Ozzy was a visionary; he defied critics, survived the chaos, and outlasted his own wildest years. He wasn't just a heavy metal frontman—he was the blueprint. Ozzy lived life completely unfiltered, wild, and entirely authentic to who he was. He gave everything to his fans, right down to his emotional farewell show in his hometown of Birmingham. The rock world will never see another like him. Turn the volume up today, crank your favorite track, and let the neighbors hear The Prince of Darkness one more time. Thanks for dropping by; see ya on the flip side... Rock on, Peeps! 🤘🤘 youtu.be/K0siYUjV9UM?list=RDK0siYUjV9UM https://youtu.be/eh4dA2Mw2I0?list=RDeh4dA2Mw2I0
